The Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism (INSCT) at Syracuse University launched its first dynamic CMS-based website this week after a 6-month design and develop process. Working closely with the Maxwell Schools ICT staff for some technical requirements, the new site has many improved features, including:
- a commercial CMS known as Ektron that enables web-based editing with simple WYSIWYG editors and workflow management
- a more streamlined organization to HTML files
- a javascript slideshow — more accessible than the previous flash version
- homepage modules that seemlessly pull the most recent content from various sections of the site
- integration with the e-mail marketing platform MyEmma
- easy access to social media networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin from the footer of every page
- integration with the commercial video site Ensemble which hosts a variety of Syracuse University videos
- special landing pages for relevant sections of the website
- an all new look-and-feel
