I’ve just recently discovered the wonders of working with Joomla, the open source content management system that makes it easy to build professional sites in a fraction of the time you’d think. I wish I would have have taken the plunge into working with content management systems years ago, and I feel a little behind the curve, but at least I’ve arrived, right?
Talking with a colleague today, as we prepare to launch a new website for a national security law journal, we discussed implementing an e-commerce tool, managing comments, tags, creating “related content” boxes, and a host of other features that would have put me on the defensive me a few months ago — but knowing how easy these are to implement in a CMS like Joomla has me singing a different tune altogether!
I’m so excited at the prospect of learning how to adapt Joomla templates that I’m having to refrain from offering to build a free website for the next person who asks …
